Speed Loader Belt Pouches
Usually my HKS speed loaders go in my right from pocket, but there it too much stuff in there. Does anyone make a single or double loader pouch that is concealable? Folks with real world experience, I would appreciate your observations based on use. Thanks.

Simply Rugged makes a split six.Safariland originally made them but I don’t think they make them anymore.

Look at the split six type. They are much more concealable than the regular belt type. I think there are several makers that provide them. I have had them for many years and really like that style.

Have u ever considered a speed strip? They’ll lay flat in any pocket. I use one often with a j & k frame.

I have Lobo (Roys) for my 19/66 spd loaders and Galco for my J frames both work very well for me.
IMHO- Galco makes the best ammo carrier out there. Have tried other and still favor Galco for speed strip and speed loader.

I have a couple of Simply Rugged split six and they are very well made.
Safariland has a holder with a clip that can be worn IWB.
I had Lobo Gun Leather make me a couple of vertical speed strip holders. Very nice and take up a lot less room than the typical horizontal holders.

Safari land used to make some made of spring steel. I have several for the j-frames. They provide enough tension to securely hold the speed loaders, and the belt. Strong and light, they work well.

I heard that two .38 speed strips in an old flip phone case seemed to be ok.

I can verify that. That is how I carried my speed strips until it wore out. Could not find them again... so started buying ammo carriers.
Note88 ammo carriers are two to three times more expensive

With blue jeans for instance, look at various brands. I have found some with unusually large, read handy, watch pockets. I have found some off brands that allow at least one, comfortably, Safariland Comp II. Or two stacked speed strips. Not separate pouches I know, but an idea.

Is anyone running the Splix-Six speed-loader pouch with Safariland Comp 2 speed-loaders?

I use the Tuff Products pouches and speed strips. They don't say "gun" and will carry two strips and 6 loose rounds very tight to the belt giving you 18 spare rounds of .38/.357 for your K frame.

Yes......... while I mostly carry a auto today..... when I carry my 3" J-frame 60-10 or a 3" K-frame 66....
I'll carry one or two Comp IIs in Split-Six pouches.... it's not a great range pouch and there may be faster pouches.... I like the set up for Concealed Carry.

I do this when I carry a k-frame. Its really the only way to go to get any kind of concealment.

This is what they look like, for those who are interested.
This is a Safariland brand leather pouch, designed for Comp-II six shot speedloaders. Shown with both HKS and Safariland loaders. This is an El Paso Saddlery 1.5” gun belt.

Speed Loaders (at least the traditional round shape such as the HK) are not convenient or comfortable to carry in moderate to warm weather. I realized this the first few times I tried and found alternative methods for spare ammo. I could never pocket carry a speed loader and so I went to a belt dump pouch which lays very flat and is easy to conceal and when I pocket carried my M60 I went to a thin nylon pouch in a pocket. Admittedly, the nylon pouch was slow, HOWEVER I always had spare ammo with me when packing and it's better to be a little slower than to not have any back up ammo at all because it was too uncomfortable to carry.
After some practice, I became faster with nylon pouch - still not great but a better over all solution for me. As for the belt dump pouch, I became almost as fast as with the Speed Loader - practice needed! I Never cared for Speed Loaders with small J Frames anyway.

The Split Six holders don't go well with love handles . The Safariland metal clips are handy , but I usually used them to clip a third speedloader next to the leather double speedloader holder on a duty belt .
And to really date myself , speed strips fit perfectly in an Uncle Mike Pager Case . I use them by themselves for concealed , or for carrying a whole bunch of ammo on duty belt , a pager case w/ 2 strips in addition to 2 speedloaders .
3 strips will fit in , but it's tight , and either hard to remove , or more strips come out than you intend .

For me it's usually a speed strip in my left front pocket. Sometimes a single speed loader just forward of my right hip next to the holster. I wear a loose shirt over it and that works well.

Back in my revolver days loop loader issued, not knowing any better I got a six round one for off duty. Stuck it in my pocket on duty giving me 18 rounds. Then dump pouches were issued, never really liked them, used toi stuff 7 or 8 rounds in each one in case I dropped some. Then acquired the steel speed strips below, man now I was tactical. Soon followed by Dade loaders, but they really didnt retain the rounds very well. So went to the Hunt Ent. little rubber cup type, they held the rounds well but you had to keep them soft and peel them off a little carefully.
Finally got to Safariland Comp - 2, LAPD Academy issue for many years until 1989. Off duty I have tried the metal clips and pouches matching those worn on duty, but they are a little bulky. Finally got these Don Hume split pouches, they hold and present the loader nicely. Worked great for plainclothes and off duty. Yes I carried all four loaders. Don't know if they still make the pouches.
Once I found the loaders and pouches it reminded me of the guns I used to carry then. So I dug them out. 15-4 was plainclothes and off duty, matched the 4 " model I carried on duty at first dept. 4" 19 RB carried for a short time before going to Los Angeles. Once there 3" 64 and a 2" 36 used for backup and off duty for the 6" model 14 I carried prior to semi Autos. Brings back some memories. I cant remember how many times I wanted to RB the 2" model 15, glad I never did.

I've used Jox pouches for years. They go on and conceal easily. He's a great guy to deal with. JOX Loader Pouches - home
From the website it seems there may be a problem with supply currently, except for larger frame revolvers. Still worth checking out.

Safariland Speedloaders and their Split Six Pouch is the way to go. Easy to find the holders on EBay.

HKS made the double pouch shown below. That was years ago, don't
know if they still make them or not.

Seeing that old duty gear / revolvers brings back memories. I went on duty with 18 rds of .38 Special and a 4 inch 686 in my Bianchi Hurricane holster / HKS speedloaders. A different world it was.
Retired now nearly 9 yrs and carry a 3" 686+ with a speed strip in left front pocket.

Split sixes (or sevens) work.
Safariland makes a single speed loader holder that can be worn IWB with their speed loaders or HKS.
FWIW, I had Lobo Gunleather make me a six and a seven shot vertical speed strip holder, which takes less belt space and, imo, is more discrete.

One of several challenges for which I never found a really good solution. Speed-loaders are bulky no matter how they are carried, about like trying to carry a golf ball inconspicuously.
I struggled with this for years as a cop, especially in plain clothes (no Batman utility belt options). When Mr. Bianchi offered his simple neoprene rubber Speed Strips I went along with that for the remainder of my years dealing with those needs.
I still have several Speed Loaders for my revolvers, but haven't carried them for many years (other than in the vehicle or luggage while travelling). I like them, but they are not user-friendly for discreet concealed carry.
