Default Looking For Information On This Holster

Picked up this holster at a garage sale and I was hoping someone could provide me with some information regarding it.

Specifically, what type of gun was used with it, and does it have a make/model #/year period produced ?

Thank you in advance for your time and information.

Default Holster information

The holster appears to be made for a small frame revolver like a S&W Chief's Special or possibly a Colt Detective Special. It is a snap off design with a top sewn belt loop, and a sewn edge that is riveted top and bottom. It would have been a very inexpensive holster at the time of mid last century manufacture and remains so today.

Looks like a JayPee. NYPD used this brand for years, probably because they were locally manufactured. Everything I have seen makes me believe they were cheap ****! Probably a Chiefs special or Colt Detective Special.
Feel free to tell me I am wrong if you have better information.

That style was made for decades by several manufacturers (Hunter, Red Head, Jay-Pee, Bucheimer, and others). Yours is probably for a small or medium-frame revolver of short barrel length; most makers offered "one size fits many" sizing rather than holsters specifically fitted to any particular handgun.
