The brown thread is after the company was sold end of the last century; by the new owners so not earlier than 1990. The 5BHL itself was introduced 1978. Likely yours has the Bianchi snap button on its backside bearing the Bianchi star logo; this snap was introduced 1980s. One of the many reasons I say "always show the back" because there are many clues on all makers' holsters there as to dating, maker, etc.

Yes Red the Bianchi Star on snap is there. Right time frame too. He was in Vietnam as a Marine for 3 tours ,then Patrolman working through the ranks to Homicide Detective and Sgt. Retiring in the late 90's. Now at 74 in I.C.U. fighting for life with heart trouble. God Bless him,my good friend Amen.
