4” K Frame Shoulder Holsters

A new holster option would be Galco among others.

I occasionally see older horizontal shoulder holsters on eBay.

Other than Ebay search "used shoulder holsters" I have come across a couple of sights. Otherwise I have a Galco light weight shoulder holster for my s&w 640, and it is wonderful.

The 4 inch Model 19 is a pretty long revolver, I agree with Bam-Bam, vertical is going to conceal better.

Are there horizontal 4” k frame holsters available? Older the better.

Living in Florida I am a bit curious as to why you would be interested in shoulder holsters being that it's usually warm and most people would not want to wear a cover garment in the heat. Not being obnoxious here, but isn't it hard to blend in when everyone else is wearing T shirts and Cargo shorts.

I realize where you live in Northern FL and while it does get a bit cooler there, it's probably not for long. Just curious......

Not interested in concealed carry, was more interested in wearing during my treks into the numerous swamps close by. Walking trough thick undergrowth can inhibit free movement with a hip mounted holster. Tucked up under my arm pit I think would help. That and I’m old and don’t care. Thanks

Considering your locale and purpose you might google kydex chest holsters.

Might find something there that works for you.

I used to have a nylon Assault Systems shoulder rig for my Model 10. It was a 1980s classic that was quality. BUT IS NOT HORIZONTAL. It is vertical.

I may, but am not sure, have it in storage.

If you would be interested drop me a PM and I will check to see if I can locate it and you could have it.

Have you considered a tanker rig? Half way between a shoulder holster and a chest rig, and not under your arm.

I ask because I recently went through a similar decision making process. There are pros and cons to each of the 3 options. Chest rig is most secure and tightest to your body. Also has quickest draw. However, it is front and center and I wanted something that could be worn somewhat discreetly under a winter coat. (Maine is at the opposite end of the Atlantic coastline) A shoulder holster typically is for concealment. It has the slowest draw - in fact those of us who are circumferentially larger and older may have difficulty reaching under the opposite armpit. You also risk sweeping yourself and those behind/to your left when drawing. OTOH a shoulder holster may be best if you are wearing a backpack.

Alternatives I considered included:
Guides Choice™ Leather Chest Holster, the ULTIMATE outdoor gun holster | Diamond D Custom Leather | Handmade Leather Holsters

1942 “Tanker” Holster – 3″ to 5″ Barrels – El Paso Saddlery

For shoulder holsters, Galco keeps coming up along with Wright Leatherworks. Mitch Rosen and others.

Hope some of that is helpful

Chip

Thanks for the suggestions on chest rigs and the Diamond D rigs are sure nice had looked at their holsters for a prior pistol. I’ll probably find one at a future gun show no hurry.
