Barranti-Myres coming home to roost.
Doc Barranti has once again indulged my leather fetish with this one. Carved & dyed, lined, toe plug, and Franz-Loc for a 4" N frame. Couldn't be happier with the result. As an added bonus, this one should be stamped Made in Texas.
Regards,
Bruce

Mighty fine looking holster, Bruce! That revolver mates up perfectly too. A great execution of your vision.

Scott,
He bought some acreage in West Texas, Scurry County. I was wrong about the Made in Texas stamp, I guess. He must be back in PA, was down here a couple weeks ago.

I'm noticing that Doc is reversing his machine at the top end of the welt stack vs. the Myres method that all Western makers have used since Sam's time, which was to make a stitch across then back down again for a dozen stitches or so. A far stronger method but necessary in the old days with linen thread, whereas Doc w/b using nylon thread that is so much stronger. Nevertheless suggest he is using a modern machine that is needle-only vs the old needle-awl machines; the needle machines don't much like having the work piece rotated on the needle and can really mess up the stitching afterwards. All good, I used a modern needle-only machine since the 1990s but one has to adapat one's designs to suit them.

I normally wear a tooled or basket stamped, two layer, 1 1/4" Vogt belt that necks down to 3/4" to accommodate a 4 piece Ranger set.

Nice belt but I like a 2" minimum for anything that heavy, easier on my aging hips. Love the holster.

Wow Bruce, that is a stunner! I would guess that it has ALL the bells and whistles available. I love the use of the Franz-Loc. I bought some too, back when they came up for sale, to use in a future project like yours. I also love the “toe plug”. With all my holsters collected over many years, I have never acquired one with a toe plug or dog ear. Seems like the smartest thing for me to do is something very similar to what you did, to “kill two (or 3) birds with one PROJECT”!
