Default I Liked It So I Bought It.....

Gentlemen:

At June's S&WCA Symposium one of the members had this S&W brand holster for sale at a very reasonable price. Since it was designed for a 4 inch K-frame and, more importantly, was brown and basketweaved I did not dither long before making up my mind. I've always thought that the basketweave was a handsome, classic look.

I finally got around to taking a couple of pics of it. Here it is with a Model 15 Combat Masterpiece, another favorite of mine. It's a perfect fit. The holster, which had only a minimum of wear, also matched up nicely with a basketweave belt I have.

The back side.

The markings in close up view. It is a Model 22 and has the W mark indicating the basketweave feature.

S&W brand holsters don't have the fine details that the earlier Heiser, Myres and Lawrence holsters exhibited and naturally don't attract the same attention. Nonetheless, I find them to be rugged, well made and very appropriate accoutrements for a nice Smith handgun. I'm happy with it.

Regards,
Charlie

Very minimum wear. What not to like? My favorite is basket weave, brown, not black. Excellent buy.

Hey Charlie! I looked at that holster too, several times, and almost bought it myself! However, upon reflection while looking at it, and remembering the many holsters that I have already, passed on purchasing it. Glad that you got it! You are absolutely correct in your assessment of it. Fine features are of course nice but at the end of the day, ruggedness is better! Good buy!
