Very nice Squidsix, very nice. A sweet shooting natural point shooter. I need to take mine and shoot it more often. Who did the work on yours?

I often carry a 1972 Model 12-2 snub, and sometimes a 1961 Colt Government Model. In the last few years I’ve also carried a 1948 M&P snub and a 1950 Colt Detective Special at times. The old guns have character, and they work just as good as my newer revolvers and 1911’s.

I have literally put 10's of thousands of rounds through it, mostly 146 WC's from an old Cramer mold. The only part to ever break was a torsion spring; easy to replace. It looks like ****, but still locks up tight as a drum.
Yeah, I'm "Old School" and prefer it that way.

I myself think it looks just great!
I throughly enjoy the old school guns, and every time I can trade away modern for classic I do so.
I will admit currently my edc is a ruger LCPII in my pocket, but am on the search for a J frame to take up that duty ( trying to find an old school airweight blued J has been more difficult than I would have expected- but my criteria are a used “beater gun” at suitable price.- in my area at least prices are high even for basic working guns if you can even find them)
I do see occasional mint condition J frames, but to me it makes little sense to take a mint in box classic and then put it to daily carry duty.
I take great satisfaction is bringing an old school rough condition revolver to a shooting match dominated by high capacity red dot autos- and while I don’t win, shoot much better scores than most of them !

I am usually the gate opener when out on a prairie dog town.....usually carry my Dad's K-38 with shot shells in it for snakes that might be out.....sort of like having Dad along with me....
It was my Dad's duty gun when he was a deputy sheriff, this gun was stolen and then recovered in a drug raid, then back to me!!!

Nice upgraded sights!!!
Did something similar to my Colt Mustang Pocket-lite.
What's "old school"???? Been carrying the same guns for going on 35-40 years....... W.German Sig 220 [replaced my 1911s], Smith 3913s, 6906s and Performance Center guns from the early 1990s...... revolvers 3" 66s from 1986 and 686s from 1981.
And some guns designed in the 1930s; Walther PPK and Browning HPs
Got my Dad's old duty [1938-1977] guns dating from 1939- mid 1950s... they get fondled but enjoying their "retirement"

I don't own anything but revolvers and the 7 that I rotate between are a 442 I carried in clothes, a mod 36 2 in that my middle brother who worked fugitive apprehension for Illinois DOC gave me , two mod 36 3 inchers one from my middle brother again and the other from a Cinncinnati PD thin blue liner, two old colt cobras one from a young copper that I was on the job with and the other from my younger brothers mother in law who got it from her Chicago PD brother for her peace of mind on the outskirts of the big city and lastly a detective special that was my backup when I was in the bag.Quite a motley crew collection that I shoot often and rotate regularly and like the fat kid said in the old I think it was a 1960s pizza roll commercial "I LOVE THEM ALL."

I carry a Model 36 in a pocket holster in my front pocket, as long as my shirt is long enough to cover the handle. Nice little guns for up close & personal.

I think I'm kind of a misfit?
I prefer wheelguns, so...most folks figger I'm just another old curmudgeon lost in the nostalgia of yesteryear and too stuck in my ways to embrace infinite capacities and red dots. Truth is that yes, I do just enjoy revolvers AND I appreciate their strengths.
I tend to mostly carry "new school" revolvers. As much as I prefer .357 and .45 revolvers, I do enjoy the luxury of scandium frames, 8 shot capacities, and light rails. Belay the blue streak I curse every darn time I buy a new revolver and spend another $100 plugging the Hillary hole and putting in a decent firing pin and trigger return spring...
8 shots is nice when I go into the big city. Scandium frames carry quite nicely in a quality holster. The light rail is nice around the house, or at the camp when going to bed and preparing for potential uninvited guests. Having said that, I'm still as comfortable as can be with a couple of my old 4 and 5 screw S&W revolvers. The J frame is always with me. The N frames are usually with me.

90% of the time I carry “old school”.
Here’s a sampling, but I have numerous Smith and Colt revolvers that see a lot of time riding in leather.

While not my EDC, I will on occasion carry my SAA if I deem the situation appropriate for open carry. While it doesn't have the capacity of my sig 365, one .45 slug will do what takes three 9mm, so it averages out. And yes, I am proficient enough with it to make it a viable defense weapon.

I only trust S&W revolvers, older models. In pistols only older Colt 1911 and older Browning HP. Nothing new interests me the slightest. To many brand new guns going back to manfs for adjustment/ repairs. Don’t want no plastic, no clones or repros- mama dont allow that stuff around here.

IMG_20230111_174401.jpgMy best friends. They never ask anything. They don't leave brass around. I trust blindly.
In a Milt Sparks Summer Special.
Usually I carry my 629s 3 or 4 inches, in absolut my first choice for self defence. For home defence i prefer Glock 19X 9 Luger.

If you consider a revolver old school than I carry old school with my 649-2. On the other hand I carried a BHP backed up by a 36 for over 40 years.

Most of the time I can be found with a Smith 642 in a Bianchi 100. In the woods walking or scouting, typically it's a model 64 in an old Brauer basketweave holster. When I'm hunting, it could be anything from a Walther PP to a Ruger Vaquero 44.

I can usually be found with my well used Mod 649. As I have aged it has become my EDC. In younger years, a 5" 1911 was the standard.

Steel is too heavy for pocket carry so I carry a scandium J frame or a Mustang lightweight. Not antiques but not tupperware either.

Boy...I got drawers older than you! I remember sitting around the police station for morning coffee and talking about those new fangled L frame Smiths. Remember when one of the detectives got one of the first 617's 6" barrel and six shot. HEAVY gun! Back then the Beretta 92's were all the rage. Good old days.

Warmer weather is a 3 in 1911. Don't carry it in winter cause it isn't pocket carry material (too many openings at rear to keep cleaned out, and exposed hammer).

Revolver for EDC.
I've done the Glocks, a 1911 at one point, and a couple other guns. Always came back to revolvers. Love them and they work, and much like me, they're "Old School".
I've asked people who don't seem to get it... Are you going to war? Are you a beat cop? Etc... the answer is always no... So, why do you need 15-30 rounds on board? Lugging around that weight all day is a pain. Literally.
I am perfectly content with a 640 J frame and 5 shots for the daily and the ease of not killing my back, my hip, or anything else from "too much weight."
Old School is the way to go.

I have an NAA .22 revolver in my left pocket at all times. Original holster is clipped to a slab of saddle leather to keep it reachable. Here in AZ, the person next to me will more than likely be carrying a High cap something, so hopefully he'll step in if it gets real sticky.

I don’t have an EDC rotation. I retired my 2” 36 because i couldn’t see sights very good. I now carry a P365. B U T ….. whenever I’m doing outdoorsy things like checking tree stands or walking property lines and hanging posted signs or just cruising around in my Ranger I carry a 4” model 10 a 4” model 64 a 1950 K22 or a 6” 629 if it happens to be deer season. Sooner or later I’ll find a3” 629 and that’ll probably replace all the others.

While serving as an MP for years, I carried a Colt followed by the Barretta. Otherwise I've always carried a 3", 4", or 4.25" revolver and a few speed strips. Just bought a 4" Model 29 for my 54th bday last month and haven't carried anything else since.
Granted, I WOULD NOT wear this rig while visiting a large town/city, it's perfect for everyday carry the other six days of the week. Everyone carries around here, so the local shops don't blink an eye.
