Barranti leather, smooth targets, and 28-2
This is a Barranti Model 44 that I was given the opportunity to own from member Toyman. Shown here with a 28-2 wearing smooth target grips. Such a nice setup. Great workmanship.

Doc, does Great work. I'm lucky enough to have one of his holsters, it's his version of Jerry Campbell's S.D. Myers floral carved holsters.

In order to forestall yet another 'legend' being promulgated, the holster is most like Lawrence's 'Keith' which was based on Myres' "Threepersons" but had significant differences for a collector. First image.
Here's Jerry's, and Jelly's appears to have been identical. In that time the Myres had a 'notched' main seam (a bump-out had been added for the DA frames for the FBI, vs the straight seam for the SA and the Texas Rangers) while Lawrence stayed with the straight welt for the Keith and added a cutaway behind the trigger. Second image.
Lawrence was also big on lacing but lacing didn't appear on Myres' gunleather until the late 1960s, it is believed, under Harlon Webb's ownership. And Jerry was Thirties.
Just to be pedantic :-). Which, about holstory, I am. When Ray was promoting his Threepersons as being a replica of Tom's including its carving, my research (I once owned Tom's personal holster) turned up the fact that the holster he was thinking of was not Tom's but rather Lone Wolf Gonzaullas' (and is so-held by The Autry).
