For the past couple of years, I have embraced CCW with an appendix in-the-waistband (AIWB) holster. I chose a Crossbreed AIWB for my PC M&P9 Shield Plus, and it's a great holster. However, as I age my midsection seems to be expanding by a few pounds and AIWB was beginning to become noticeable under a t-shirt. I decided to purchase a holster pad to help keep the pistol grip tucked in against my belly, and I chose the Clinger Cushion (6"). I was a little concerned because the majority of holster pads that I looked at were designed to use adhesive velcro dots to stick to the back of a kydex or similar hard shell holster. The Crossbreed holster is kydex, but it has a leather backing for comfort and shape. I talked to Clinger customer service about their dots sticking to leather, and all they could recommend was to give it a try because their adhesive was very strong. So I did. Per instructions, I cleaned the leather backing with the Clinger-provided alcohol pad, and then applied their 5 velcro dots. So far, the Clinger Cushion is staying in place and the dots are adhering to the leather. The Clinger Cushion seems to be performing as advertised and keeps the pistol grip tucked in against my belly. If I can lose a few pounds it should work even better. Anyone else have some experience with AIWB holster pads?
