I picked up one of these in DAO with a 3" barrel. Not finding any known makers for the 3", anyone know of a builder?
Thanks.

What do you mean by "known makers" and "builder". This was a stock Kimber revolver. Mine is my favorite .357 (shown here with two other 3" sisters).

If, perchance, you mean holster maker, then both Simply Rugged and DeSantis offer great holsters for this revolver.

You can look at Kramer Leather, Mitch Rosen or Milt Sparks. They will all make custom holsters. If you go with Kramer (my personal Fav), I'd suggest getting the Horsehide - well worth the extra money!

Just to follow up these are the folks I found that can build for the K6s with 3" barrel:

Black Hills Leather
D.M. Bullard Leather
Kirkpatrick Leather
Ronin Leather (formerly Little Bear Holsters)
Ted Blocker Holsters
Doc Barranti Holsters
Ritchie Leather

There were some others but only built for the 2" guns.

Be sure and ask about backorder times with any holster maker. They can run into months to close to a year.

Be sure to ask any holster maker about backorder times. Most are several months to a year behind.

You are correct. I have holsters from both Kramer and Tucker but am over their wait times. Yes, they make great holsters but so do a half dozen other builders that are 4-12 weeks out.
Several only make for the 2" barrel and apparently not interested in acquiring the mold model for the 3" barrel. I guess the sales aren't there for the 3" gun and I have no idea what the mold guns cost so...
As I am partial to the snap on pancake style I went with Ronin. I have some holsters from Little Bear (previous company name) that I am quite pleased with and he was very accommodating about making some changes to ride height, cant angle and size of the sweat shield. His current delivery time is 4-6 weeks.

We shall see what we see. I will post pics when it arrives.

Thanks again for all the input, much appreciated.

R. Grizzle Holsters can make you one. I had one for the K6S made by him before they had a dummy gun for it. They use the same dummy gun as the K6 2” or 3”.

I'm a big fan of Simply Rugged holsters. The wait time is 10 days or less most of the time for a plain holster or one with a simple border stamping IIRC. Even a beautiful floral carved holster I received within a month when I ordered it last year.

Great quality, modestly priced AND received before the next visit of Halley's Comet.

NOTE: one thing I just learned about the Simply Rugged pancake holster is that it actually makes for a very comfortable IWB rig with the "IWB loops" they offer. I've used these pancake holsters for a number of years now and every revolver I have this is what I carry it in, but it's hands-down always been my go-to OWB for revolvers...

However, in the past month now I've tried carrying my 4" N-frame 624 in the pancake IWB and it's surprisingly comfortable! I'd have never believed it if I didn't try it myself (a BIG revolver!).

I'm retired, a big guy and dress casual in Carhartt canvas shorts or pants (one size bigger to accommodate the IWB holster) and untucked shirt of whatever type. A sturdy belt is required of course. I now carry the 4" 624 every day, all day in this way - it's my preferred mode now. Again, I'd never have believed I could comfortably carry a 4" N-frame IWB this way.

Very nice holster! That's what I'm looking for. Do you by chance know the degree of cant?

If I don't like the Ronin I will try this gentleman.

Thanks
