US military Heiser holster
Does anyone know and own US military Heiser holsters?
What is the meaning of the stamp?
I'm Italian, I don't know American military and civilian rules.

Here’s mine.
The extra strap is to ensure you don’t lose your Gun during ejection, chute opening and all that fun stuff.

MRT means mildew resistance treatment. Heiser apparently had a small contract to supply the 4” Victory revolver holsters after WW II- I say small because we run across relatively few examples compared to other makers.
Here’s my example, I’ve found and owned 2 while actively collecting over the years.

Well, not exactly… this example was submitted for evaluation for Navy aviators’ survival firearms and Heiser through Evaluators Ltd. supplied
holsters for another small U.S. military contract.

That holster wasn’t made for a U.S. contract as shown by this page from a very late Heiser catalog. The holster to the right of the top flap holster is a copy of the holster issued to US Generals for the Colt pocket auto. Both of these holsters are few and far between. Good find, Marcello.

A side note, MRT is the old “ musty smell” real Army Navy stores USED to have.
