Try an old line shoe maker in your area. Or you might be able to find an actual holster maker. Or you might be able to do it yourself. Tandy still has a catalog operation (with a few actual stores) where you can buy leather and hardware.

Do a quick search on "Leather Repair Shops" in your area ...
here in Baton Rouge we have several ...
Shoe Repair , Boot & Saddle and General Leather Goods Repair shops , call them and see if a local shop can fix your strap and snap .

In general, if a holster's Maker is still in business, I'd start with them for repair work if needed. My experience with Shoemakers repairing holsters has not been the best - I'd no longer seek one out for that purpose. Back in"the old days" Shoemaker's were a lot more skilled IMHO and had a better understanding of holsters. Today's Shoemaker's are just not cut from the same cloth - for the most part. If you know an "old timer" still in the business - then yes, he might be one to use for said purpose.

Had these folks reproduce an old holster for me (with several snaps in it). He mostly does western holsters and such, but the one he did for me wasn't and was a perfect reproduction.

An update, I chose the path of least resistance and took chief38s suggestion and contacted Galco customer service.A rep there named Kris sent me a return authorization number and quoted me a very fair initial price.I sent the holster back today.Again I THANK all of you forum members that gave me excellent advice and suggestions. All were very viable options and helped me to explore many avenues of repair in fixing my vintage Galco holster.Im sure your advice also helped or will help others who may have had or will have similar repair issues or needs.

Update #2 Galco could not fix my holster to their standards.Heck all Im looking for is a new strap with a snap to be grafted on.Will be taking robertwalsh,Bald1 and gwpercles suggestion and when my holster ships back heading to the shoemaker.
