Wanted to give a shout out to Simply Rugged. I recently asked them if they would produce a Sourdough Pancake with two belt slots and a neutral cant for my Model 64 DAO. Their quick response was “of course.” Well, it arrived and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. Just what I wanted. So, if you’re in the market for quality leather at a fair price, I recommend them. Have been a loyal customer for a long time and will continue to be.

Simply Rugged Family

I received my first sourdough two weeks ago for a snub nose revolver, and it seems to be a high quality holster. I’m most impressed with the perfect amount of retention. Also, I really like how the revolver goes just deep enough into the holster where the hammer is protected.

Nice, uniform collection of the holsters.

Do they offer a leather lined holster?
I’m looking to get something for my S&W 296.

Sixgun - I really like that two slot holster. Great to know they would do that. Same price as standard 3 slot ? And where did you get that nice speed loader holder ?

I own a farm. In the summer I wear a Glock in something made of Kydex. The rest of the year it's something like a 3" 686 in a Sourdough pancake holster. I need the revolver available but not flopping around and out of the way when I am on the tractor, running the chainsaw or whatever. Having a heavy gun flopping around will wear you out in short order if you are doing pretty heavy manual labor. The Sourdough stabilizes the gun, it's out of the way, and won't go flying out if I hit a bump while on the four wheeler.

Here's a GP100 in one of my favorite holsters.

Thanks! Yes, same price. I’ve had that Safariland Split Six holder since I was in Law Enforcement years ago, you can still find them on eBay.

I've had this N Frame holster for quite a few years, probably 15. It has serviced a 3 1/2" Pre 27, and a 3" Mod 24. Protects the gun well, and distributes the weight so well you forget you are carrying an N Frame.

Unfortunately I have passed both guns on to other's. Never know when I might need it for another in the future.

Rob is my go-to leather guy. Been patronizing his work since he was still in Alaska. I've lost count of how many of his holsters I have, I wear one of his Real Mans Belts, and have one Chesty system. I'll be getting another, along with a standard holster adapter and a holster for my Glock 20 with a red dot and light. I have Never been disappointed in products from his shop.

I have had 2 for several years. I ordered one initially for a 3" and they sent one that was obviously for a 4". I called them and they corrected the error immediately by sending the correct length one and told me to just keep the first one when I offered to return it! How's that for customer service?
Very good simple design that works as intended.

Nice looking holster there Sixgun. I have always been happy with Simply Rugged, as well as El Paso Saddlery. Galco makes nice off the shelf stuff.

I have had 2 of those Safariland speed loader holders for about 45 years. Best speed loader holders ever made. For the life of me I cannot figure out why the company discontinued them and never went back to making them again. Unfortunately, Safariland is only a shadow of the company they used to be.
They were available in two colors-black or tan, and, at least in .38/.357, five shot and six shot.
The cartridges in the speed loader ride high and straddle the top edge of the belt, which makes the holder ride closer to the body, and the lower profile helps with concealment if so desired.

I also have 3 of the Simply Rugged pancake holsters. Very happy with them.

If I don't already own one of Rob's holsters for a revolver I buy the next step is to order one from him. Just a couple of mine.

An don't forget his "Chesty Puller" system. It allows me to carry large revolvers, like that ROA, or a Redhawk easily.

I have only one, but I find it an effective, simple, and comfortable design. I bought it for my Colt Three Fifty-Seven.

It's quite versatile in that I have also had K-frames and a GP100 in there. A useful holster to have on hand. Excellent bang for buck.

Simply Rugged is one of the great values. I have 2 & zero complaints.

I’ve heard of them but never really looked into them. I just went on their website and was VERY impressed with what you get for the money. I’ll probably order one this weekend. I need a high riding forward cant for a 10-5 DAO 2” that I just acquired

I like their holsters a lot but found their belt construction kind of crude and not worth the money.
