Default The only money belt I ever made or will make

A few years back I decided to make an old west type money belt. It was very scary hand stitching all the cartridge loops and two billets on it before folding it over stitching it closed. What if it all didn't line up and ended up tweaked and crooked? It turned out OK, though. You can't get much more comfortable than this soft yet strong heavy suede type material.

Nice stag grips on that one Colt. And very good work on the money belt. A classic.

Oops. This was meant to answer Bam-Bam. There's a vertical slot punched out right behind the buckle that is about the size of silver dollars. Since cowboys got paid in silver coin they would slip them in that slot inro the belt's hollow center, moving them around where the weight balanced against the weight of the gun. The tongue billet slips through the slot from the back then through the buckle when wearing it. That keeps the coins from slipping out.

If they had folding money it went in one of the empty chambers.

It's hanging in the two holsters.

Damn nice job, did you make the holsters too?

I'd like to see the inside of the belt, where the money is inserted.

I just put my money on the outside of the belt. No, they're not real, just conchos.

Nice work Wyatt...hellofa lot of stitching in a money belt...done one myself years ago...and have never made another...but they sure do feel better than a regular 2"-2.5" gun belt. Rod

Thanks. It was tough hand stitching those cartridge loops on such soft, pliable leather. But it worked out. I can’t over emphasize how comfortable it feels wearing this belt.

You do very nice work. I enjoy that Sunday Scabbard you made for me. Using it with the new S&W Model 25-2. Probably going to need a separate belt to use it. So it will become a grab and go out the back door.

For being your first try at one that looks fantastic. I have always thought that type of rig would be comfortable and practical. The Duke knew how to pick em didn't he.
