An outstanding, but expensive, collecting opportunity forces me to part with this example of fine 1950s Smith & Wesson workmanship.
Post-War Heavy Duty, Nickel, 4-Inch, s/n S1480xx
This Heavy Duty was shipped in 1955 and was refinished at some point in its career by Ford's. The gun appears to be unfired since the refinishing, and wears an absolutely magnificent pair of Philippines mother of pearl grips to complement the mirror nickel finish. The hammer and trigger sport really vibrant case colors (see two attached thumbnails). Mechanically in fine shape with zero problems. Serial numbers on frame, cylinder, and barrel match.
Price: Reduced $200 to $1,050 (plus shipping).

May I inquire as to what you are trying to buy as I may have one to trade?
I am interested in the 27 as it is my birth year gun, but I just bought a 1966 29 and have depleted my gun funs.
Never know I may have what you are looking for.

It's a Single Action Army with a great historical provenance, making it a one of a kind item, and hence, the steep price tag. Sorry I cannot accommodate you on a trade. If you are seriously interested in this Model 27 as your birth year gun, let me know, and I am sure that we can work something out.
