1. SOLD PF.... REDUCED TO $735 SHIPPED.....S&W Model 24-5 .44 Special from the Heritage Series. All blue gun. Original box, papers, and stocks. This was going to be a keep forever gun, but I am going through a paradigm shift and am unloading what is becoming dead weight (i.e., stuff that I don't really need, don't use, and doesn't have sentimental value). Blue is around 97% with a scratch in the topstrap (see pic), a turn line, and some light high edge wear. I think 97% is probably conservative, but I'd rather you be pleasantly surprised than unpleasantly.

Shot very little by the original owner and not at all by me. Very nice gun. $800 shipped and insured from my FFL dealer to yours. I'll throw in a nice pair of Eagle Heritage rosewood round-to-square target stocks for another $50. They really improve the handling of the gun for ham-handed folk like me.










4. REDUCED TO $1250 SHIPPED.... Engraved S&W Model 29-2 .44 Magnum. Serial number is N215XX, which dates it to 1969 or 1970. The gun is non-factory engraved with 82nd Airborne, Special Forces/Mike Force motifs. I was told the original owner was attached to the Montagnards in Vietnam. However, I don't have his name. Buy the gun, not the story, but there is nothing about the gun to indicate the story is not correct.

The gun appears to have been originally blue. I don't know what the finish is now. The gun has a pleasing gray finish/patina, but how they did it, I don't know. There are some remnants of what looks like blue in a few protected spots. The original factory markings are a bit soft, which indicates it was polished to some extent prior to engraving.

The engraving is very high quality. The scroll work is very tight and even. I have a lot more pictures than I have attached here and will be happy to email them upon request.

The stags are very nicely fitted and are genuine Sambar by Ajax. The stags alone would cost about $350 to replace today.

Mechanically, the gun is in excellent condition with tight lock-up and excellent bore/chambers. The bolt drops just a little later than I would like in double action, but still drops in time to lock up safely and effectively.

2. SOLD PF.... REDUCED TO $225 SHIPPED..... Model 1 1/2 .32 Centerfire. Matching frame, cylinder, latch, and stocks. If the barrel has a serial number, I do not know where to find it, but I'd be happy to look. Nice gun, all things considered. Has quite a bit of original nickel remaining. The bore is in much nicer shape than you usually see on these, with quite a bit of shine and some scattered light pitting. The mechanics are excellent and the lock-up tight. The bottom of the right panel has about a 1/2" long thin crack in it that would be easily repaired if one so desired. Antique, so no FFL required. $260 shipped anywhere the USPS delivers as long as your are legally allowed to receive and antique directly.



3. SOLD PF.....Pre-29. Five Screw. Matching numbers on frame, barrel, cylinder, and extractor star. No rework marks on the grip frame. 6-groove backstrap. The previous owner harvested the Cokes before I got it, so please don't think I did that. I wouldn't. I put the very nice Westinghouse Micarta Magnas and Tyler T on it and I think they fit the spirit of the gun quite well. This is a nice shooter/carry grade gun. It has a realistic 95% blue remaining, with some scattered freckling, the wear through on the right side by the trigger, and some smeary looking marks in the blue, particularly near the muzzle on both sides. Some of the smearing in the pics is simply gun oil. It is a nice gun, particularly if you are like me and like carrying and using classics such as this. The Westinghouse Micarta stocks have never been fitted to a gun and are proud in a couple spots, but that could easily be fixed. As they are, they look nice and feel good in the hand. Excellent bore, chambers, and mechanics. Minimal endshake and sideplay with the hammer down and trigger pulled. Bit more sideplay with the trigger released. Based on the minimal wear on the recoil shield and the minimal flame line on the topstrap, I'd hazard a guess this gun didn't see a whole lot of full-house loads. It will serve the new owner well for many, many years to come.
