I e mailed the original owner and here is his response:
That P.38 started out as a postwar 1961 I believe commercial P.38 with an aluminum frame. I wanted a steel frame so I had a gunsmith switch the original aliminum frame with an early wartime Walther steel frame. The frame was bead blast blued, the rest is the original Walther high polish blue. The frame has WWII German proofs and the slide post war commercial proofs. So I ended up with a steel framed (all Walther P.38), great pistol isn't it. Glad you still have the Seecamp Government Model.
