Default WTS: S&W Model 19-3 2.5" SPF

This is a P&R S&W Model 19-3 that I aquired from the original owner. The serial # is 8K87XXX and I had the gun lettered by Roy Jinks.

The reason I had the gun lettered is I could not figure out why the gun had a RR front sight without the WO rear sight as I posted in this thread.

S&W Model 19-3 2.5" Question UPDATE!!!!!

The letter indicates the gun was shipped from the factory to John Jovino in New York City on March 11, 1977 and confirmed the gun was shipped with a 2.5" barrel.

Here is where it all comes together. I was able to contact the original owner that I purchased the gun from through a mutual friend. She told me they owned a restaurant in Little Italy and her cousin was a NYCPD officer and talked her into buying a handgun for protection as she carried cash from the business to the bank or home on Staten Island. He took her to the gun store on Grand Street that as she said " all the cops went to" (Jovino's) and she purchased the gun brand new. The owner convinced her to let him "do some work" so it was easier to shoot for her. Thats how the Red ramp made it onto the gun and why the action is silky smooth, Its a Jovino job.

The gun as the pictures show is in excellent condition and will come with the rubber grips I purchased the gun with, NOT the Grashorn Stags pictured. The gun has no box or papers but I will include the Roy Jinks Letter.
