WTT: 2" J-frame SPF
NOT FOR SALE..........NOT FOR SALE..........NOT FOR SALE
Up for consideration is a 2" S&W Model 63 .22LR stainless steel J-frame revolver. This gun is in great condition, both mechanically and aesthetically. I bought this piece NIB from the original owner that had bought it in 1991 and left it in his safe for the ~20 years before selling it to me. I've ran ~800-900 rounds through it with no non-ammo related issues. This is a very smooth and accurate piece...don't let the short barrel fool you, it'll put 6 shots into a 1" group at 50' if you do your part A very fun plinker and a great way to train on your shooting technique without spending nearly as much for .38/.357 ammo.
These guns are pretty scarce among the S&W circles. I'm not saying they're super rare, but you can't just go out and find one whenever you'd like to; and when you do, you'll usually pay for them! They started making these in the early 90's and quit making them sometime in the mid-late 90's. I'm not sure why these aren't seen more often on the used market...but my assumption is that guys who own them, don't want to let them go. Of course, this piece was made before S&W started using MIM parts and Internal locks; so this Model 63 has all forged steel internals and no lock. It was made before what many S&W guys see as the real downturn of the company.
This gun would come with it's original box, papers, tools, & stocks. The Model 63 is NOT for sale, so please do NOT ask me for a cash price.
Some photos:
IN TRADE:
I'd trade for a clean 9mm Model 3906 with fixed sights...not a 4506, not a 5906, not a 6906 not a 3913, etc...no other models. I'd also trade for one of the Ashland Model 617's without the barrel lug or perhaps a 3.5" Model 27, either hard chromed or in nice shape (aesthetically and mechanically).
I'll gladly answer any questions or post more photos for those interested in a trade. Please either post in the thread or shoot me a PM with any questions or comments. We can discuss the +/- of $ as appropriate.
Thanks for looking,
-Rob

Guys, if it's going be an auto...it's got to be a fixed sight Model 3906. I do not have any interest in any other auto from any manufacturer. No Glocks, 1911's, any other S&W auto, etc. I'm still waiting to hear back on the 617 from post #6...so, the M63 is still currently available.
A fixed sight Model 3906 has been at the top of my list for quite some time...doesn't appear to be too many out there though

Still available. I'd really like to find a 3906. I also added a 625 Model of 1988 to the trade list. Trying to hold out more for the 9mm though.

Someone has got to have a 3906 they'd like to trade. I'd do cash too (buy your 3906) if you weren't interested in a trade.

The question was aked "why not sell and buy what you're looking for?". My answer is; that I cannot find a 3906 anywhere I've looked, so having cash in hand wouldn't do me a whole lot of good. Seems like the gun fund has a funny way of getting put to something else if it sits idle for too long. I'd much rather trade and am not taking any cash offers.
If someone wanted to buy this little .22, and could track down a 3906 (in clean shape and w/ fixed sights), I'd be able to sell it to the finder and just buy the 3906 outright.

Would also consider a blued 3.5" Model 27 or a pre-lock snub Model 627.
