HELP me spread the word on this, please!
If you have your profile set to send you an email notification when you get a PM, replying to that email
Does NOT send a reply to the person that sent you the PM!
The email
notification is just that- a
notification
It is from the forum, NOT from your correspondent.
So, if you reply to the email notification, you are replying to the machine, NOT to the person who PM'd you.
THAT is why those email
notifications say:

We seem to be getting an ever increasing number of members replying to the notifications.
This is causing misunderstandings on deals in the classifieds and other forum areas because the chain of communication is getting broken. One guy thinks all is well, and the other guy is wondering what happened to the buyer or seller!
So, one more time-
If the email says "DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL!",
DON'T!
Here is an example of what could happen when you reply to that email NOTIFICATION.
Below is a PM chain started by Roscoe. Read it from the bottom up.
There were 3 PM's, and then poor old Bubba answered the email notification for Roscoe's PM instead of the PM.
