WTT - S&W 38/32 Terrier
I have an early post war I frame 38S&W Terrier that I would like to trade for an early model 60, 40 or baby chief in .38spl with short barrel. The gun is in very good condition. It was sold to me as all original but I have doubts about the finish being original so I will allow an inspection and return if you are not satisfied. I can email more pictures but Iphone photos are all I can do.

That's a very nice specimen. I take it that the grips are not numbered to the gun since it has the flat side plate screw for Magna grips?
Is there a factory re-finish date stamped on the left side of grip frame under the grip?

the frame, cylinder and grips are numbered the same. there is a "R-S" and "6 79" stamped on left side of grip frame under the grip. apparently it is factory refinished. thanks hondo!
Upon further inspection I have noticed an "S" with a diamond stamped on the face of the cylinder and under the barrel behind the serial number. This may indicate that factory repairs were done other than just a blue refinish. But again all serial numbers match.

How would you feel about a model 37 Chief's Special with original box and paperwork?

Hi Jeff,
The S on barrel and cyl is for 'Standard' (blue) finish and coincides with the R-S (Refinish Standard) on grip frame. Sometimes S was used instead of B.
Sent you a PM about a nice all original 2" Baby Chief for your consideration. Pics in the morning.

Any news yet? Just curious if the gun is still available or if a decision has been made.
