This is a VERY nice Smith & Wesson 4” 15-3 .38 Special.
According to the 3rd edition of “The Book” it was made in 1977.
It currently wears (what I believe are) period correct factory target grips that are very nice as well.
However, as I bought the gun used and do not have the box I can’t say whether or not it left the factory with them.
Overall it appears to have been shot very little.
It does have some handling marks such as a very light cylinder turn ring, some bluing wear on the muzzle and one spot the cylinder.
There are two areas that appear to have been damaged by a previous owner’s negligence.
The front side plate screw has some damage as well as the cylinder latch screw.
In the picture showing the front side plate screw that is not a scratch on the side plate. It’s a piece of fuzz from the cloth I wiped the gun with.
Please PM me with any questions.
Thanks for looking.
