Offered for sale are a Mid-1960’s Model 36 and a Model 915.
This model 36 in very good shape, and was originally a blue revolver made in the mid-1960s. It was shipped on 4-20-65 to a store in Olyphant, PA. It was part of a 42 gun shipment and most would appear to be for police officers. Maybe it was carried by a detective, and got knocked around over the years. Maybe on car doors, seat belts buckles, or desk chairs or whatever. We do know it was cared about enough to be sent back to S&W and refinished in nickel, with the correct R-B in a box on the grip frame. I am now including a period correct box. It is not numbered to this gun, but is for a nickel M-36 and in excellent condition
It has the original diamond grips, but the right grip is cracked. The grips are numbered to the revolver, but are off by one number. An aftermarket set of wood grips are also included. I was just notified they are by Fuzzy Farrant. They have been fitted to the revolver using epoxy and fit quite well.
I have had this Model 36 for a long time, and it was one of the first nickel Smiths I bought. I think I took it to the range once and fired 5 lightly loaded wadcutters. It has been a safe queen for 30 years or so, and is in factory new-rebuilt condition with the barest of turn lines. Timing is excellent with no end shake. I don’t have the original box or papers.

The second gun is a model 915 with a VBH serial number prefix which indicates very late in the production run. It went overseas, as it was reimported by LSY of Louisville, KY. It comes with 2 Ramline magazines which hold 17 rounds and a 15 round S&W factory magazine. It appears to be in excellent shape and the rifling shows no wear. It may have been fired when it was overseas, but has not been since I have had it. These have gotten harder to find in the last couple of years.
