Lost my Mom
Just got back from my home state of Kentucky after burying my mom.She was 85 years old and had been confined in nursing home.She was in home for little over a year.Both her and my Dad are now gone(Dad passed away in 1976).I will really miss her.

So sorry to hear that. I lost mine this past Dec. She was 80 and the picture of health until they found the brain tumor. 90 days later she was gone. Time will help heal the wound.

My condolences....My Mom was about the same age, same circumstances in a Nursing home....With all the suffering she experienced it was welcomed by her & family....Unfortunately, many in these homes just don't die peacefully. Not sure about your circumstances....

im so sry for your loss, lost mine 4 yrs ago and the love never fades at all. still continue to tell her you love her everyday in prayer.

My sincere condolences, Belfastman. Unfortunately, dying is very tough on those close to the deceased. I lost my own mom last year. Although time will not heal your grief, it will help you to bear it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Allow me to add my condolences. My dad died in October 2007, and was very hard. I can count among my blessings, this forum. The extended "family" here was a tremendous source of comfort.

Been 12 years in April for my Mom, 9 years December my Dad.
You did well justifying her love for, and trust in you.

Mine too....
1996...seems like yesterday and a dream at the same time. She was 80. She simply gave up after a colostomy due to diverticulitis. She was too proud to live with "the bag." Sometimes I get angry because she smoked most of her life, but on the other hand she was Mom. You don't replace a Mom. I know what you are going thru...numbness, feeling lost, disbelief. For some time afterward, I'd start to pick up the phone to call her.....and realize that part was over. The thing that hit my sister and I the most was that we're next in line. Think of the history of mankind and all the losses families have felt. We are not alone in this circle of life. My condolences to you and your family.

Thanks for your kind words she went very fast and did not suffer at last,the nursing home she was gave her excellent care.My sisters were there all most every day.She had heart failure but they think it was blood clot that killed her.The nursing home sent beautiful flowers to her service.A person should aleast be able to die with some dignity
