Lara Logan in Afghanistan
How do you feel about CBS News Chief Foreign Correspondent Lara Logan?
The South-African - born Logan, once called D-Cup Lara by British peers, made news by having an affair with a married US contractor in Iraq. I believe that she had a child by him.
Apart from this, how do you feel about Lara and the way she reports on US forces in Afghanistan? She at least gets out into the field, sometimes accompanying troops on combat patrols.
But I think I saw her this week talking to Taliban fighters, getting their side of the story.
It is good to know how the enemy thinks, and why. But should the now-American (I think) Logan be doing this? I feel that neutral reporters should cover things from the enemy's view.
Can anyone post pics of Lara Logan? She's a cute blonde.
Thanks,
T-Star

Ha! You wish... Lara is pretty cute. Smart, too,and I sort of like her accent, although it's less pronounced now than in the past.
By the way, she is English-speaking, not an Afrikaaner. But I guess you'd expect that with a name like Logan, not van der Merve, etc.

I wasn't aware that CBS was still in the news business.

They aren't. They are in the entertainment business.

Funny how it matches the earrings that I gave her. Guess we have the same tastes.

Thanks for sharing the photo; I was wondering what was lurking under that body armor... Couple of thoughts on Lara:
1) I wonder if she prefers embedding with the Marines, or the Army.
2) I bet the pounding of artillary must have kept her up many nights while on assignment...
I hope this does not cross the line; couldn't resist...
I agree with the comment that there is no such thing as news on the major networks anymore. It just seems like they are a vessel through which they communicate whatever is fed to them from the government, or corporations (really no difference...). I find it amazing how they get away with their continual focus on hollywood/entertainment; at the end of the day, does this really matter to our life/wellfare. I guess the public enables/drives this situation; pretty sad... Sorry, E-O-R...

Obviously CBS has at least one hetero male left working in their H/R department? I wish him a long life!

Thanks!
If you guys can quit joking long enough, her series on Afghanistan continues tonight, on Katie Couric's evening newscast. I don't always agree with her views, but she does get some interviews with the troops where we can hear and see them.
And I'd a LOT rather look at her than at Harry Smith.

She was on Charlie Rose last night, and she was quite articulate.
Her theory is 'get the story out for the world to see and hear'.

She's almost a spitting image of a girl I dated back in college, and even though she wasn't as tan as our reporter here, she had the same size chassis.
Alas, her beauty was only skin deep as I found out her heart was just like an alligator- it was thick skinned and would bite hard. I'm glad I threw the alligator in angel's clothing back.
