law suite against condo trustees is over
well after all most 5 years i have reached a deal with the condo trustees over a dispute over my 20ft flag pole and the lien they put on my property. i was order to take down my 20 foot flag pole or face legal action. i refused and they hired a attorney who sent me a letter saying i had 10 days to lower my flag pole to 6 feet or they would fine me $100.00 a week fine. i lowered the flag pole to 6 feet. at the time my wife was suffering with kidney cancer from which she has since recovered from. then the trustees had the nerve to send me a nice size legal bill for the attorney writing the letter. they said you have 10 days to pay the bill which i refused. they then put a lien on my property and every month with interest the bill grew. at this time i filed a law suite against the condo trustees and when their attorney received his copy he bailed out because he didnt do court cases. after 3 years in the court system a settlement was reached. my flag pole with go back up to a height of 14 feet 5 inches. the lien will be removed at no cost to me. the legal fees and interest they tried to make me pay will be paid by the condo budget.
so i thought this was a good deal.

Everybody says you can't beat the system. deduke, you've proved them wrong. With time and patience, even the mightiest will cave in to what's right. It's a damned shame that this ever came to this in the first place. If I were you, I'd probably look for another condo, and tell this bunch of sorry oxygen thiefs to stuff it. Way to go!

I want to commend you for standing up for your rights.
That is not an easy task in this day and age. It is far easier to give in, and allow your wants and desires to be dictated by those in power.
You are demonstrating the true American spirit in a time when so very manhy have forgotten what the real American spirit is really all about.
It is a sad commentary on how we have allowed small minded, stupid, pea brained administrative types to have so much power when they are truly incapable of thinking, only following stupid rules that they decide without input nor common sense.
I salute you and your spirit.

[QUOTE=CAJUNLAWYER;1141659]Sounds like a GREAT deal. Not many people would stick it out like you did, I don't think I would. I salute you-you had the cojones to stick with your convictions, a trait sorely lacking in today's society. WELL DONE [/QUOTE
thanks caj this means a lot coming from a person who knows how long the legal system can take.
i stuck with it for our troops in combat who are puting their lifes on the line for us back home

Tell those SOB's that you fly that flag for those that fight under it. The ones that are sometimes shipped home with one on their coffins....
Tell those *** that that soldier who served and died under that flag, ~ is the one that insures their rights to make jackasses out of themselves, in court...
Well done Sir...

Great news, Duke - Pretty much the way it turned out with the fireman who refused to remove the flag from his locker, and got fired because of his refusal - The bosses and the city caved in under the national pressure and reinstated him and changed the stupid policy to read, remove every thing except the flag... don't mess with our flag!

Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! and Hurrah! Too bad you couldn't get them to let you put the head of the condo association president on the top of the pole.

I too have been following this story. AWESOME outcome!! I admire you for sticking to your ideals and am glad it has worked out this way. How dare folks try to take down a proud and patriotic mans flag and then try to bully him into paying the lawyer bill for being done wrong!! Score one for the good guys!!

Great job and hopefully the condo association got enough negative publicity from your fight that they will think twice before tackling another patriot!

Great work deDuke;
The shame in these cases is that payment of ALL of the costs isn't confined to the condo officers who blundered in the first place then kept up the nonsense. Instead all the homeowners get to share the cost.

In the far distant past..
I think I suggested you got a BP cannon or Carbide cannon and at 4:30 did the "retreat ceremony".
YouTube - 1700 Local. Retreat.
notice that the korean flag lags slightly behind the American.
Will gladly contibute to the carbide/blackpowder cannon costs!
These "individuhals" need a daily reminder of their lack of moral character!!
Just my 0.02$ worth
