Movie: Miller's Crossing
I've been on a gangster movie bender lately and watched Miller's Crossing last night. It had the classic Coen brothers movie demeanor - complex, subtle and awkward at times. I do like the Coen brothers movies.
Quite the variety of firearms used in this movie including two different S&W revolvers and of course the requisite Thompson. Complete list of firearms here:
Miller's Crossing - imfdb :. guns in movies :. movie guns :. the internet movie firearms database
I like the little Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 ACP.
Anybody else like this movie?

The "Danny Boy" tommy gun scene was worth the price of the movie...and the line where Gabriel Byrne says "it's an old war wound, it acts up around morons"...classic!

Miller's Crossing is one of my favorites. Alot of great guns and witty dialogue. Eddie "the Dane" has some good lines and his Webley steals the scene in Verna's apt. I was surprised to see an Astra model 400 used to "whack" Bernie.

Miller's Crossing has been on several times in the past several months, so I have watched it quite a bit lately. In addition to everything else, it has a great score by Carter Burwell. (I don't keep track of such things as a rule, but I liked the music enough to look it up).
I have often wondered about some of the guns, too. I don't know why I didn't look that up. Thanks for posting, especially the link. Great thread.

I love it - "There's nothing more foolish than a man chasing his hat." I don't wear a hat often, but if I did and it blew off, I wouldn't chase it just because of this movie.

My all-time favorite of the Coen bros. is Fargo. I watch Miller's Crossing whenever it's on as well.

Miller's Crossing probably wasn't a big commercial success, but like many well made movies Miller's Crossing was seen by most on DVD, My opinion for what is worth. It will be a classic, well acted and subtle. Gun people will love it and Crime story fanatics would have a hard time beating it. My next favorite is Usual Suspects Same reasons..

Yeah, if I compiled a list of all-time favorite gangster movies, Miller's Crossing would have to be in the top ten. Oh, oh... My spider sense is tingling! I feel a new thread coming on...
