Default Public opinion needed SW M 627

Not really a revolver question. More of a marketing question.

There is a really nice, barely used M627 at the shop. I really like the gun as I have a M327 R8, figured they would coordinate.

Anyway on the side of the barrel is 357 MAG- 8 TIMES.

Yes, its a 8 round but I just find that 8 TIMES kinda cheesy.

Did they really need to put that on Performance Center Gun??

I think it detracts from a really awesome revolver.

Am I being to OCD about this?

Wonder if I can buff it off

Product: Model 627 Revolver

(click larger view, it's worse in person)

The other side says, "yeah ,that's right...eight times!" Yeah, it's cheesy...but don't go by me...the gun does nothing for me with or without it...

I have shot one and like it. I buy guns for what they do not what they say, so the logo does not bother me. I hope to acquire one sometime next year.

I was hoping for a Hybrid that I could put +P ammo in.

I look at it this way --- I don't care about the markings. Eight rounds vs. six round improves your odds of winning Russian Roulette roughly 33%, reason enough to warrant the purchase, to my way of thinking...

Personally, with that bizarro looking barrel on it, the engraving/etching would be the least of my concerns...the entire gun is one ugly ***.

Actually OCD1, I think you are right.

You are being OCD about it.

The PC627 is an exceptional revolver. Especially cool is the barrel profile and the "8 Times" or "V8" (whichever the case may be) on the barrel.

I'll see if I can get a photo posted tomorrow.....

When I first saw one at first I was amazed how ugly a revolver could look....

then I shot the dern thing....

then i had to talk the guy out of it that showed it to me...

Mine has the full length V-comp under lug, not the one shown above. I haven't got used to *that* design yet....

EDIT:

by the way....just when is FULL HOUSE 357 magnum NOT considered "+P"???

I really like mine. I like the barrel profile and it really, really shoots great. Great fun just to plink with also. Reduces the number of times you have to reload by 1/3.

Just ignore the barrel markings. You can't see it when looking at the front sight!

I like my R8. It's "tactical" and I can hang all kinds of junk on it

I would like the stainless version which would take more abuse.
