If one is a night person, then they make excellent pets. A childhood friend and I both had them. We'd walk Gorgeous George (named after the wrestler) through the local Bowling Alley ("NO dogs allowed - Mgmt."). It was on a leash. The Manager would yell "Hey, you kids, get that dog outta here. They're not allowed in here.". We'd laugh and tell him it was a possum. Neat pet.

They are putting trackers on possums & raccoons here. When the tracker stops moving they use it to find the python that recently stopped the possum from moving. The python isn’t moving because he’s full.
Regards,

We'un's in the north of Indiana live on mostly fresh Beaver an beer. From the middle of the state on south they'll take most anything that walks, flies or crawls and put it in the pot.

I could probably get you a couple good recipes from folks down next to the river, in the south of my county.

A few years back, at our outdoors Rifle range, we had a white Pelican that was walking around the grounds.
It was too weak to fly and when you got close to it, you noticed
things crawling all over it, between it's feathers and over it's face.
Not a pretty sight and something you did not want to bring home !!
