None of the stores around here have had any in the last year. Not much change from where I sit.

Just bought 300 rounds of bulk Winchester 9mm at a local Wal-Mart. $21.00 per 100. They had a ton of pistol ammo.

Must be a regional thing.

I happened to be in Wally World this morning and actually saw 2 boxes of 9mm, 2-3 boxes of .38 spec. and 2 boxes of .45's.
That's the most handgun ammo I've seen there in a long time.
I believe I'll keep rolling my own. (Reloading, that is).

Here in NE Indiana, we have several WalleyWorlds and some have ammo some of the time and some have ammo none of the time. Seems to be a store to store decision. BTW send some of that $21/100 9mm my way!

The ones around Boise have it, not much, but they have some and expect more.

This has been the policy of the Matamoras, PA WalMart for a couple of years now. First, there was plenty of target ammo available and I could special order defense ammo. But now the manager said everything has to go through corporate and he can no longer place special orders. There is now also very little pistol target ammo available since he only gets in small amounts at a time and it is quickly gone.

That have Ammo here,not a lot though.

My wife just picked up 3 100 packs of .45 acp at walmart last week in Va.

Stopped in my local Wally World this morning. They had (9) 50 round boxes of .40 at $16.99 and (1) 100 round .40 for $29.99 in Winchester.

In Federal about (12) boxes of .40 at $14.99. Some .22s, a few odds and ends in .38 Special, 32 Auto, & .44 Mag.

The rest was rifle and shotgun rounds.

The manager of the department says they order everyday.

It depends...is that 22 ammo for a rifle or handgun?

When they asked me that a few days ago, I just said, "Yes."

Our Wally Worlds all still sell pistol ammo, when they can get it. I've been seeing more and more lately.

I've heard of this around urban areas. Many Dick's Sporting Goods stores don't carry pistol ammo around here and my closest Wally World just dropped it. Its been a long running policy at Dick's but I think WW did it mainly because it was a pain with the shortage.

I live 10 miles outside a large (anti-gun) city in the mid-west and bought 3 boxes of Federal .45 acp at Wally-world last week. $14.95 a box. They seem to have a bit more pistol ammo available in the past month.

I found a dealer at a gun show here in charlotte nc, that sells 50 rds of 9mm ammo for 10 bucks a box. it is the nonreloadable kind but it fires just fine. he will also sell 1000 rds for 200 bucks ( 5 dollars a box). his website is palmettostatearmory.com and he is based out of south carolina.

1000 rds at $200 is still $10 per box of 50. Still not bad but you had me hustling to snag 9mm @ $5 even if it is no name russian mfg.

All Wal-marts (we must have 50) carry pistol ammo in this town.

Bought 100 box of .38 in Johnstown, PA, Monday. It's Winchester 130 grain, FMJ. Interestingly, it's labeled "Target/Range."

Our Walmart is flush with handgun ammo.

1000 rounds / 50 rounds per box = 20 boxes per 1000.

$200 / 20 boxes = $10 per box.

It's still cheaper than anything I've seen in a while.

At wal mart on Friday I purchased 150 rounds of remington umc .38 special for $40 and 100 rounds of winchester .40 for $32.

They had four bulk boxes of 9, one bulk of .45 and a few 50 round boxes.

no .380s...

thats all I took notice of.

Stopped by Walmart today and as is my habit strolled by the ammo case to see what they had. The display case has been replaced with one exactly half the size of the original. It was fairly well stocked with certain calibers. No 38, .380, 357, 45 or 22lr bricks but...they had 100 round boxes of 9mm for $20.97. Forty caliber and 357 Sig were also plentiful along with lots of 223, 308 and some of the other popular long gun rounds. As always shotgun shells were everywhere. The guy working sporting goods said he will no longer be able to order ammo. He just has to take what corporate sends and hope for the best. I don't know what to make of it but went home with more 9mm.

walmart in ormond beach florida has a bit of sw40 for 14.00 for 50 and will continue to sell it and will sell it all night.
W hen i had my hi-point 380 they hardly ever had it and when they did they wouldn't sell from 10pm till 7am

The walmarts here in statecollege have it, but you pretty much have to be standing at the counter when they bring it out from the back to get any of it.It goes really fast.

Wal-Mart doesn't sell ammo in two SF Bay Area counties. Not certain what is driving that.

You've got your calculation backwards. You have to divide 200 by 1,000 which gives you cost per round. In this case, 20 cents. 50 X .20 = $10 per box of 50.

Where will I get my .357 magnum and .44 magnum ammo. for my Marlin rifles?

My local WM still stocks plenty, certain calibers sell out fast, but they have heard nothing of WM stopping carrying handgun ammo.

Yeah, it is so annoying. If you go to their hunting and fishing section it is mostly just nets and not a single item to do with hunting or firearms.


However, I was up in Napa a few weeks back and they had .38's, .45's, .357 Sig, 9mm, basically everything but what I wanted, .357 mag. Oh well.

There is handgun ammo in southern Oregon Squall-Marts[.22 ammo is hard to find-you have to be there when it comes in as you can buy 6 of the boxes.]

I believe it's a regional thing. Walmart quit selling handguns in the early 90's. But go to a Walmart in Alaska and guess what you'll find? That's right, handguns.
