We are all pretty familliar with the National Match Course, 3 Gun, or "2700" round shot at the National Matches at Camp Perry and other places. Does anyone have information about the matches shot before this one at Camp Perry. I get the feeling that they were all slow fire judging from the Colt Camp Perry Model, H&R USRA Model, and the S&W Single shots. If any one could point me to a book. website or on line article I would be grateful.

Are the American Riflemen available on line or on CD?

Prior to the 2700 they shoot a 900, this is the preliminary. This consists of 3 30 round national match courses. One for 22 rimfire, one for center fire (32 cal and up) and one for 45.

Now prior to this they shoot a distinguised revolver match, a national match course. Finally prior to this they shoot The Harry Revees Match, also a national match course.

BTW a national match course consists of 30 rounds. One slow fire, one timed fire and one rapid fire targes.

The 2700 has been shot at Camp Perry for over 100 years.
