Thought you'd get a kick out of this old match book advertising Marlin rifles, "Marlin is for men", "My man is a Marlin man"...

Buy a Marlin and women will be all over you!

It has taken some time for gun marketing folks to realize that 50% of the worlds population are women, and they too may be interested in shooting. It's interesting to contrast that with today, go to Gander Mountain and there are plenty of Ruger 10/22's with pink stocks, pink grips on Smith and Wesson revolvers, pink gun cases, etc.

Barb,

I think the lady on the far right is holding a Winchester pump .22, perhaps Winchester focused on women shooters "Back in the Day"...

Sir, IIRC, Annie Oakley did much of her exhibition shooting with a Marlin, either a Model 39 or its predecessor.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

I'm hoping to help create yet another one, with the Daisy "Pink Rider" BB gun I sent my grand daughter!
(Keeping fingers crossed!)
