A course with pumpkins in various attacking positions and situations. This would make a great spoof video.

When we set up our steel targets my shooting friend and I tape plastic picnic spoons to the steel plate. 20 yds out hittin that spoon takes a little doin.

Plastic bottles that held laundry detergent and cat litter are among our favorites. They jump around pretty good if you hit them low. Our club doesn't allow shooting food, but water filled bottles are okay and fun to shoot. I've seen folks shoot old computers and monitors. Kind of a mess to clean up, though.

5 pound bag of flour.
Reinforce bag by wrapping it with 1-2 layers of duct tape.
Attach loop of string to bag with duct tape.
Suspend bag at whatever distance you desire.
Every hit gives off a cloud of white powder easily seen at 100-200 yards.
The reinforcement with duct tape allows the bag to endure about 50 hits from a center fire rifle or pistol.

David Letterman used to do a skit periodically called "Will It Blend?" He'd put some random stuff in a blender and the contestant (audience? I don't recall) had to guess whether resulting mixture would get ground up enough to blend together - or would they remain in the seperate, homogenous parts.

That caused me to create the related concept that I call "Will It Target?". When I'm throwing away anything or putting it in the recycle bin I ask myself if it would be fun at the range. An old pillow? Nope. No way. An empty plastic bottle? Certainly.

I like the most any container that holds liquid, is pretty sturdy, and has a good solid lid. A empty plastic bottle of olive oil is an example. I pour in carbonated water and screw on the lid. Empty liquid dish soap bottles can work. Then, what's even better, is hitting them with a JHP. Then the fun really begins. :-)

Someone mentioned golf balls. I have some friends that play ".22 Golf". Everyone gets their own ball - all lined up at the same distance. And we all get 10 shots. Furthest ball wins.

And, it's awfully hard to beat the old standby: an empty can (soup, beans, whatever).

Once we decided to get rid of a wooden cutting board. It was roughly 18"x24"x1" thick. It was fun to hit it on the 1" edge and see how far into the wood a 9mm FMJ would go.
