But I remember watching this one on Saturday morning at the town movie hall.....Bluto was handy with the revolver but missed the safe gun handling course

That short clip had gunplay, fistfights, smoking, and alcohol. I don't think the do-gooders would allow something like that to be shown today...

What else is better in a cartoon?

Popeye is the all-American hero type cartoon.

I hate to admit this, but that Olive Oil makes me feel kinda funny, like when I used to climb the rope in gym class

That link is to one of the very early Popeye cartoons. Any of them made up until the mid '50's are great, but the early one are really enjoyable to watch, even still.

Kids today have no idea what a good cartoon is. What with all the new Japanese **** with everyone having squared off faces and bodies, people being made out of sponges, etc. South Park , even though directed towards adults, has got to be the worst of all, and an awful lot of kids watch it regularly.

I don't think PETA would like it much either. (although the dolphin didn't seem to mind)

Default Well, heres the one I wanted originally to post, BUT

It is way politically incorrect....BUT is historically significant to the time....it the way folks viewed things then.

I always loved the Ali Babba and his 40 thieves one with Bluto as Abu Hassan. Especially the salami, salami, baloney part. These days it wouldn't be "politicly correct" though.
