I was at the range yesterday with a friend and I insisted that he bring along his Krebs Custom AK-47. He bought this new in '02 for $795 and I have always wanted to put some rounds through it. I have no experience with any AK and have heard the usual rants that they are extremely reliable but also very inaccurate. I came away very impressed! Although I shot it at only 100 yards, it is perfectly viable for first shot hits way beyond that distance.
So, I pull up Krebs on the 'Net and find that he doesn't sell an AK nowadays that costs less than about $1200! And he has one that costs over $2100! Does anybody own a high end Krebs that can comment?
I might be willing to spend $795 for a specimen that performs as well as this one, but apparently those days are long gone. I guess I have a lot to learn about the AK and I am very wary of the lesser stuff that's out there.
