Default Country songs...

I'm really a classic rock guy but have a couple of presets on country stations. Every now & then I hear a lyric that brings a smile...

"Our homes are protected by the good Lord and a gun...
You might meet 'em both if you show up here unwelcome, son..."

I LIKE that!

No idea the artist's name, I think the song's "Out here" or somethin'...

Oh yeah... country's about the only place left where you'll actually hear somebody who knows how to play their instrument...

It's "Way Out Here" by Josh Thompson.

(Verse 1)
Our houses are protected by the good Lord and a gun
And you might meet 'em both if you show up here not welcome son
Our necks are burnt, the roads are dirt and our trucks ain't clean
The dogs run loose, we smoke, we chew and fry everything
Out Here, Way out here

(Chorus)

We won't take a dime if we ain't earned it
When it comes to weight, brother we pull our own
If it's all backwoods where you live and you're concerned with
Well you can leave us alone
Just worry about John Wayne, Johnny Cash and John Deere
Way out here

(Verse 2)
We've got a fighting side a mile wide but we pray for peace
Cause it's mostly us that end up serving over seas
Hell if it was up to me I'd love to see this Country run
Like it used to be, like it ought to be and just like it's done
Out here, way out here

(Chorus)

'Cause we won't take a dime if we ain't earned it
When it comes to weight, brother we pull our own
If it's all backwoods where you live and you're concerned with
Well you can leave us alone
Just worry about John Wayne, Johnny Cash and John Deere
Way out here

(Repeat Chorus)

Our houses are protected by the good Lord and a gun
And you might meet 'em both if you show up here not welcome son

Music, I love it all.

For all the old timers like myself, 1970 brought a country hit we all will never forget, in fact it was song of the year.

A nice song which will take you back to many memories, enjoy.

I worked with a bunch of elitist, jazz loving snobs who chided me about my country music. However, back when Chet Atkins was touring, they were the first in line for tickets when he was coming to town. That boy could play.

Always got a kick out of that...Bob

Even better (if you like acoustic instruments) are the various bluegrass groups.

I get a kick out of the relatively new one, Pray For You. If you haven't heard it, there's a couple on You-Tube.

It may not be theologically sound, but it's pretty funny, nonetheless.

Boy! This could take some time.... I think I'd have to vote for "Country Roads" by John Denver. I just love that song.
I like a lot of his stuff. A great entertainer taken too soon.
Another great country song is Toby Keith's "I love this bar"
"Tequila Sheila" by Bobby Bare ain't too bad either.

My music taste goes all over the place. John Fogerty (he still does a great concert) and CCR are big favorites in rock. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy does some great swing music. Classical Beethoven and Bach. And then there's ......

I just love music

About forty-five minutes south of Tippitoe Louisiana
Lived a man called Dr. Mills South and his pretty wife Hannah
They raised up a son who could eat his weight in groceries
Named him after a man of the cloth
Called him Amos Moses

:-)

I heard Tom Douglas, co-writer of Miranda's "House" song, (with Allen Shamblin) talk about how she came to cut it. He played it on an electronic keyboard. I liked it before and liked it even more after hearing him talk about writing it. Lambert didn't write on it, but she sure does a good job of singing it.

I was in Nashville for some workshops a few weeks before the flood.
