Default Opinions on trade m+p9 for m+p15-22?

Wife was thinking of letting her m+p9 go its two years old, full size, well cared for and has all the stuff with it for a new m+p15-22,she gave $500 for the gun new, just wanted some thoughts on it seems like a fair deal to me but I don't know the goin rate for 15-22s.

In places around here I see the M&P15-22 going for $500. A trade on the M&P9 might get you anywhere from $200 to $300 so they can sell it for $400 or so.

I'm just guessing about the trade in value... I'm basing it off the cost of a new one and the average price I see them going for used.

What is going to get more use? I enjoy both of them, but I own far less S&W long guns than pistols. I gave $400 for the second 15-22 slightly used, and was willing to pay full list for the first one ($500). I like to shoot, and like both of your choices. I find wives, kids and friends tend to like the long guns better. Plus ammo alone........

Thats what I'm thinking as well the wife has a glock 17 so the 15-22 would be a good family fun gun and would see alot more use.
