I would like to know how they determined that having the bore in line with your arm "reduces" recoil. Recoil is recoil. Felt recoil should go up as the rotational effect is eliminated. That means that you will get the full benefit of itl rather than having some used up in "muzzle flip".
In-line bores are great in a low-powered target gun, but I don't think it's going to be a winner with a .357. (Especially with hot loads.)

It's totally made of pot metal (zinc alloy) with exception of the barrel, and the mags are all plastic. It looks crude and the materials are ultra cheap, but some people say they work ok. I'll pass myself and buy something American instead- like a new Heritage .22 9-shot revolver, and have enough left over for a brick of ammo.

There is more to this than meets the eye. IIRC, most semis these days strive for a low bore axis to reduce "perceived" recoil, so why not with a revolver. Most folk I know perceive the rotation of a handgun as more "recoil" than the straight back effect. I agree that the energy goes somewhere, but having it come straight back appears to bother folk less than having it go up.

Interesting looking revolver! Their percussion arms look really nice. I've never heard of the company, and I notice no prices are listed.....

A gun shop I frequent has their 1911 style 22 pistols in stock. Every one laughs at them because of the light weight and cast parts, but i've asked the manager several times if they have experienced any problems with them, he says that they haven't. They have a range right at the shop and so far all the ones they sold have been problem free.
They remind me of the materials and craftsmanship on the Colt & S&W AR-15 22 LR clones. Feels like a pellet gun, but shots pretty good.
The prices on the Chia Guns are pretty low in comparison to everything else.
Wheither they hold up or not, is to be seen.

I guess it's in the eye of the beholder... I've been waiting for one for a while. Always wanted a Mateba UNICA, which was designed by the same guy, could never afford one.

This revolver appears to me to be the ultimate answer to a question never asked.
It makes the Ruger LCR look like a Korth!
Someone looks like they got the idea from Mateba's automatic, an over complicated revolver that saw little serious sales and even less real use... an oddity; nothing more.
About two years from now, people are not going to be asking "Uhhhhhh...what is this?" ; the question will be "What was that?"
If it IS made of pot metal, as has been suggested here. The it rates up there with our old friends at RG.

It's an interesting concept and I don't doubt that it will reduce muzzle flip by a bunch. However I see a couple of problems as a result of that very low bore axis.
One is that it's probably not good for the joints in the wrist to be subjected to a force like this over the long term. IMO a certain amount of muzzle flip is probably less damaging to the joints in the wrist.
The second issue is that the sight line is well offset from the bore axis. As a result, this gun will be distinctly sensitive to distance in terms of sighting. Set the sights for 25 yards and it will shoot low at closer distances. Maybe not a lot if you only use it with 357 Magnums but with 38 spl., that change in POI will probably add up to 4 inches or more at 20 feet.

My guess is that it won't be on the market long. I wonder who was foolish enough to put up money to develope such a thing.

The market research is back and it says that gun buyers who like vent ribs are more likely to purchase guns with really BIG vent ribs.
The market responds. Or maybe not.

I would like to handle and shoot one just for the experience, but I would have to be very impressed to actually buy one. Just a glance at the internal lockwork tells me this isn't going to be popular with home gunsmiths. Jerry Kuhnhausen is gonna have his work cut out for him with this one!

looks interesting, I think Ayoob bought on to try for match shooting the lowered barrel should be good for reducing muzzle flip. Seriously doubt they will sell many to radical, and too limited of a market>

Obviously a gangsta weapon. Perfect for drive bys. Soon to be the weapon of choice of criminals and terrorists, who will buy them by the thousands, throught the infamous gunshow loophole. The design is perfect for holding sideways while you shoot (more deadly that way). If there was someway of mounting a bayonet, it would be the perfect weapon for robbing banks. The vent rib is really scarry looking. Just wait till congress and the ATF find out about this. It will be banned.

Masad Ayoob wrote favorably about them, but it doesn't change the fact that it is one of the ugliest or strangest guns that has ever been produced.

Anybody seen a price on these? The only speculation I've heard was $899.00. If so, that's going to make it a big seller.
(Sure doesn't sound like they saved much by using cheaper alloys. Maybe the cost is in making all the itty-bitty parts in the lockworks. )

...The Rhino revolver. I maybe swimming upstream here but: As far as I know, these haven't hit production yet, (other than the prototype examples shown at the SHOT show.)
Yes, it's different looking...maybe even ugly. But I have never handled or shot one of these, so I will keep my mind open. It just might be a good shooter.
I can't hate on something just because its new & unproven. It may be junk...it may not...market place & commercial viability are not always the benchmark for good or great ideas. Plenty of good guns didn't sell well & are now collectable oddities.

There was a similar revolver on the market a few years back. I can't recall the name of it, but Chiappa may be using the same design.
I don't mind the looks of the piece. If it came in .41 Magnum...
