Default Bulged barrel

Just thought I'd give a head's up to anyone in the northeastern SC area . . . . don't want to publish it on open forum but I was in a pretty well known pawn establishment today and saw a pretty nice S&W nickel .32 revolver with diamond grips. But something caught my eye through the glass so I asked to examine the gun.

Yep. Bulged barrel.

I informed a couple of the clerks and immediately got the impression ( though they feigned ignorance) that they knew about it and had hoped to sell it before a buyer noticed. Could be wrong and wouldn't accuse someone but sometimes you just get a feeling, ya know ? They didn't seem surprised and didn't move to verify my analysis while I was there or even look at the gun so who knows?

I'm just passing through from out of the area and stopped in to see what was to be seen, but I'll fill anyone interested in via PM as to what and where.

Most of the serious buyers on this forum would know what to look for, but I can see where it's something that the average Joe might not pick up on immediately. The price wasn't that great, but not crazy for a nickel pre-model 30 hand-ejector in otherwise good condition. A word to the wise.

Highly likely someone tried to reload jacketed bullets in it with cast lead load data.

I've got one slightly bulged barrel gun that shoots pretty darn good actually- an old Colt. I'd never run any stout loads through it though.
