So what does a guy who calls himself "rimfired" do on his 60th Bday? Yeah I was going shooting but then the rains came. Sooo I wandered down to this hole-in-the-wall gunshop in Plymouth. Told my buddy Mark, the owner, the occasion. "What ya got thats old and needs a new home cheap?" I was looking for a snub but found a 1962 Ruger .22 semi pistola. @ 90% but you couldn't tell for all the filth. I've been cleaning it for almost two hours now and it is getting there. The old mag took a half hour alone. I'm taking a beer break so I can throw the filet mignons on the grill.
Out the door, tax-tags-bg check for $201.00 and I'm a happy camper! Bore is perfect!
It should be noted that this was a TWO SHOOHAMMER operation!

I finally finished the cleaning. Could rate as the worst neglect I've ever seen. I've no doubt it was sold/traded because it wouldn't function. I had to dissasemble the bolt. Total tear-down. All is well and I'm gonna wring it out tomorrow. The pic sucks - color is way off but I'm in my Bday beer cups and don't care.
I posed it with the most accurate .22 I've ever owned. And I've had 41's and lots of Brownings and lots of Colts, you name it, there is no comparison to my Ruger MKll 5 1/2 Bull. NONE!
Anywhoo, Ain't it great to be alive???
