names that match occupations, accomplishments
I have always noticed that sometimes a persons name will match or be somewhat similar to their accomplishments or occupations. For example: some guy named Bird or Byrd flies over the north or south pole.
A local fire chief named Sparky Sparks, and the list I have gathered goes on and on.
The reason I am posting this is because today my son sent me a text message that said that a nearby county coroner's name is Ben Hurtt. See what I mean?
If you know any, I'd like to hear em.
Don't get me wrong, I was taught to NEVER make fun of someones name. My mom used switches to instill that. Just that they match their gig or whatever.
Peace,
gordon

The vice-principal at my daughter's school has the last name Doctor. She is currently working on her PHD, which, of course, would make her Dr. Doctor, too.
My last name is Brewer, so I guess I should have gone to work for Adolph Coors....

We had a local TV weather girl by the name of Amy Freeze - probably made up, but maybe not. She moved to Chicago area (IIRC) a few years back. Weather people on TV are ripe for cool names - Snow & Sunny come to mind immediately
Oh yeah - how about Peter Gunn?

I'm sure it was made up, but there used to be a radio traffic reporter (I think in Houston?) who called himself Skid Marks.

The guy who was the chief news editor at the CBS Washington Bureau for many years was Ralph Hedline.
The guy who was in charge of "damage control" at the agency retained by Babcock & Wilcox, the nuclear engineering firm that built Three Mile Island, was one Peter R. Miracle. That's right: P.R. Miracle.

In 1974 I was stationed in Germany. We had a 1st Lt. whose actual first name was General.
We always had fun with the new guys when we told them to report to Lt. General Smith.

I've always gotten a kick out of the actor Louis Burton Lindley,Jr., better known by his stage name, Slim Pickens.
Apparently took up the name Slim Pickens when he worked the rodeo 'cause folks told him he'd make no money at it: Slim Pickens - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
