Default A disturbing thought today

I saw a report on the local San Antonio TV news this morning that has bothered me all day. It seems that someone tied a dog to a railroad track. Somebody saw it and called the city animal control and reported it. An animal control officer showed up just in time to rescue the dog right before a train arrived. There has to be a special place in hell for someone who would do a thing like that. The dog is now up for adoption. There will probably be a lot of takers.

Well, a guy east of Gallup, NM kept getting his 'valuable' horses killed by trains - BNSF would just pay him. After just one too many got hit, the RR sent out a railroad detective to check - he found the last dead horse's 4 hooves still spiked to the ties between the tracks.

They've been finding dogs tied to trees in remote areas in the UK, left there by people who cannot afford to keep them or who cannot find rental accommodation that allows pets. Sometimes they are found in time, and sometimes not.

So the obvious question is why don't these people take the dogs to a volunteer shelter or the RSPCA? (ASPCA equivalent) Ah, but that would involve telling another naked ape that you cannot cope, or you have lost control of some aspect of your life. Now that's really unacceptable.

Happens often here in the US too. The common dumping ground locally for those with some concern is dumping an animal off in the middle of the night by one of the local shelters.

I'm gonna say this; most of us are "vintage" and you don't get to be "vintage" without some hardships. You deal with it and move forward. If you want to sell your guns because of a crime that happened somewhere else, you do you.

However, be mentally prepared to accept whatever some sub-human animal decides as your fate. Whether it be in your home or out in public. Personally, I couldn't live with myself if something happened and I had sold my tools that could be used to protect my loved ones or innocents.

People get killed in vehicle accidents every day in this country, what's next, sell your car and walk?

Awful, awful thing to do to a dog. My canine friends greet me with a big smile, wagging tail and unconditional love. It breaks my heart that someone would do that to man's best friend. Such a person is not human, but trash.

Seriously, I did not have to read this on a nice Saturday morning. I have adjectives & adverbs floating around in my head that have never been used before. This is almost enough to make me cry, which I am inside. If I were to write what I'm thinking, I wouldn't get dinged, but I'd get clanged and led out the door. I'm gonna go hug my Angel and get on with my day.
Love yinz guys/gals.

As much as I hate to admit it, I was thinking it would have been fantastic if the devil that did that, tripped and fell landing on the tracks, cracking their head on the rails, while running away. In the meantime, the pup chews through its restraints, and pees on the downed devil just before the arriving bullet train. There is a special place in hell for that person, and the train sends them there post haste!

FORGIVE ME!

If you look into the background of some recent serial killers, you will find some were involved in animal mutilation.

The famous “MacDonald Triad” is a set of characteristics associated with many violent adult personalities such as mass murderers and serial killers. The triad is a history of three childhood and adolescent behaviors - bed wetting, fire setting, and animal cruelty. Having any two of those is considered predictive.

It is not. I made that response in a thread about a guy selling his guns. I have no idea how it ended up here.

There are many reasons why those of us working in the criminal justice system generally prefer quadruped critters to the bipeds. The regular exposure to horrible people and their actions is wearing.

People around here seem to think that cats are disposable lives. We now have 3 of them that had been abandoned by scumbags that need a good dose of karma. I'm glad to have them, they're great little creatures with such different personalities.

Many people are very good. On the other side, like was said above, some people really suck.

I suggested that we get t-shirts made with that on it.
