I bought one of these yesterday from a guy at a show. Does anyone have any experience with them? This one is in nice shape and looks to have been well taken care of. Its serial # is 18136xx. I am thinking that it will make a nice plinker. It only came with one magazine. Does anyone know where to find a spare? If I remember correctly Hi Standards are somewhat pick about magazines.

Yeah, I had used of a Dura-matic in the early/mid/'60s on loan
from an uncle when I was 13/14 yrs old. First handgun I
used a lot - target shooting & pllinking on the family farm. My aunt
showed it to me a couple years ago and it sure brought memories
back. Checking out the controls - I didn't remember the RH side
control - seemed a weird place to put that.

The Dura-Matic was my first handgun, I bought it on layaway for $69.00 in 1972. I still have it and it works fine. You need to watch gunshows for magazines.

I had this one, it worked great and it was as accurate as I could ask for. Wish I still had it, sold it a couple of years back to a Forum member here. I saw extra mags now and again on Gunbroker, maybe one will show up for you. They seemed to be going for about $30-$35 at that time. Good luck with yours, Shoo

I used a brace of High Standards back in the 80s when I could actually see the little Bullseye at 50'.

And the couple I've had since then have all been sensitive to magazines. The original all worked very well; none of the after market examples I seized upon "to save a few $$" actually worked very well.

Great design IMHO and very accurate regardless of which model.

I'm not a big Hi-Standard guy, but I have two, a Supermatic Citation and a HD-Military, both a nice shooting pistols. Neither of these are guns I set out to buy by had them offered to me in trade, as they were both mint and I knew they were quality handguns, I hung on to them; probably need to shoot them more.
