SHOW US YOUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE GUN PICTURE, AND WHY IS IT YOUR FAVORITE ???
What's your favorite gun picture, and what makes it your favorite ??? I'll start it out with this three-digit serial numbered S&W Model 3 First American. This one is in the lower 400's range, has the oil weep hole on the crane hinge that only the first 1500 had, and is a rare piece as most of the first 1500 went to the Army and were marked as such. It's all original except for the front sight blade. I lust after this gun. My buddy took it on trade without any idea of what it was, just that it was an early S&W and should be worth the $350 the guy trading it wanted. Threw it in the safe for about 3 years and finally dragged it out one day when he was bored. Never imagined that it was worth well north of $10,000....
Shoo

Generally when I think of my favorite, perfectly proportioned S&W, I think of this...15-3 with bluing you can step into!

SHOW US YOUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE GUN PICTURE, AND WHY IS IT YOUR FAVORITE ???
One of my favorite holsters with a model 27 that I shoot frequently.It's a great looking photo.The holster is a S.D. Myres Threepersons with a hammer protector & the M 27 is c. 1966 with a 6 1/2" barrel.

I have two... the K38 for the softness and warmth that I got in the colors contrasting with the dark blued finish.
Also my Model41... the angle and lighting on the front of the Burris Fastfire apeals to me.

I like this one.
And this one.
Don't know if they're up to the standard of some of the great art shots I've seen on this forum, but I kind of like the way they turned out.

I guess this may be my favorite. Shot in a light box and lit by window light. Wish it was sharper but I shot it hand held with a pretty low shutter speed. Sometimes I wish I'd put the brass cartridges in the cylinder.
This one has some interesting shadows on the background and I like it for that reason.
There was a guy who used to post in the modern revolvers forum who took beautiful photo's. All I remember is that he had "357" in his screen name and he was fond of The Outlaw Josey Wales. Is he still around?

It's easy to get "favorite picture" mixed up with "favorite gun," but I'll try.
This postwar S-prefix M&P snubby sat perfectly still for this photo, which has some of the best balanced illumination and color I have ever achieved in a photo. Outside, north light.
For an almost favorite photo of an almost favorite revolver, I offer this prewar Kit Gun. Inside, artificial light.
I have never been successful with gun photos that use props. I need to work on that.

I have two:
This one I'm not sure why I like it so much, maybe it is the "naked" nickel.
This one I can't take credit for, Smith357 took it. I love it because it was the culmination of a long term project, the gun, the engraving, the grips and finally the belt and holster (thank you Wyatt). Add to that a well setup, well lit photograph:

I don't know exactly why - maybe the burlap, maybe the lighting or maybe the 1911 - everything came together when I "shot" my very first 1911 - this SA:
or maybe this one:

My favorite is usually of my Mod 39 no dash. I guess it is because it is my favorite 9mm in my collection and the gun is just nice to look at and shoot.
Some days I really like the picture of my Mod 28 no dash. While this gun has seen better days it is one of my absolute favorites to shoot, but I guess nearly 60 years of hard use tends to start breaking in a revolver.

If they are original, they are museum pieces. Standard

Not the best gun photo in my portfolio, however it is the gun my wife bought for me on our sixth anniversary after I took her jewelry shopping. Model 28-2 with some honest character and a set of unmarked, but comfortable non S&W grips.

This is "Gloria". My daughter named her after the Gena Rowlands character in the 1980 movie of the same name.
She left the factory Thursday, January 16, 1964
She shoots better than anything I have ever shot. She's special to me because ever since I saw a Model 27 when I was 12 years old, I wanted one. At 42, I got one.
