Default Taught a new shooter how to safely handle guns

I had the pleasure of teaching this young lady proper gun handling this Monday and she did quite well all the way around. I took a little .22 ammo with us and she shot my Clark/Ruger MK11 pretty accurately. BTW, I had all that ammo back in 2011, I'm not a hoarder, just prepared.

That's great. This is the kind of thing that is never well publicized enough. All most non gun owners think you just go to the store, buy a gun and holster and away you go. Sure there are a few that have no idea of what their doing but most of us have definitely been trained and keep on training.

Default That's excellent

Lately I've thought that the best thing gun owners could do is introduce somebody to guns.... safely. I think a lot of anti-gun sentiment is caused be fear and lack of knowledge about firearms and could be cured with safe familiarization. I hope more of us get the opportunity.

I agree. Introducing a new shooter is always a good thing.

We have kicked around the idea of limiting the membership at our local range. Every time it's brought up we come to the realization that more shooters is a good thing.
