Was surfing the net last night checking out what new movies are coming out and see that they have remade Charles Bronzon movie "The Mechanic". The original was in 1972 with Jan-Michael Vincent. Since the "True Grit" discussion went so far thought we could start one on this movie.

New movie stars Jason Statham, Donald Suthrerland, and Ben Foster. There are a couple of trailers online.

I liked the first Mechanic - Charles "Bukinsky" - was great as the old pro . I'll have to see the new one, but anything with
Donald Sutherland and Jason Stratham should be good .........

I picked up a three pack with The Mechanic, along with Assassination and another movie for $5 at Wally World this past week. One thing on the previews was the student being angry over the death of his father, where in the original, he didn't care at all.

There will be only one Charles Bronson. Of course the same can be said of many of that eras stars, who came from the real world instead of "inheriting" the mantel.

Charles Dennis Buchinsky came to Hollywood and feared his name would work against him during the "red scare" so he took the name of the gate he entered off Melrose Blvd....the Bronson gate...later, I would travel through that same gate to work on a silly doomed sitcom...:)

I am not a fan of remakes. I usually perfer the original version.
Next, you'll hear they want to remake Shane.

Don't anyone in Hollyweird have original ideas??
