I never watch the Super Bowl (or any other sports), and can't name a single tune that Christina Aguillera has ever sung, so instead of complaining, I'll recommend some real music.

I'm a big fan of German band leader and singer, Max Raabe. He specializes in 20's through 40's band music. In addition to covering the works of the Comedian Harmonists, he also does '30s style covers of pop songs. There's just something charming about the MC from "Cabaret" singing Salt 'n Pepa's "Let's Talk About Sex". Raabe's pretty good singing "Mambo #5" in German too.

Good music will always be in style- no matter what country it is played in or what language. :)

I'm a big band fanatic.
I was led to Raabe via an NPR story on the Comedian Harmonists, who were sort of the pre-1933 German version of Spike Jones. They broke up and left Germany because several of them were Jews. They reformed as two separate groups, outside (with three of the originals) and inside of Germany (with non-Jewish replacements), but neither of them had the success that the original group had.
