I am finally getting excited over a new phone. In the near future Verizon will be releasing the HTC Thunderbolt. It will have the latest version of HTC's Sense overlay on top of the latest version of the Andriod operating system. Coupled with 40G of storage space, 4G speeds up to 14G and simultaneous voice and data, it looks to be a breakthrough device.

Anyone else on pins and needles waiting for the release?

I’m still in love with my Droid X. No, it isn’t 4G but it does everything I need it to do and then some. I love the bigger size for the screen, keyboard, and easier to read factors. I had one of the original Droid phones that was the HTC Eris. It was great until it downloaded the Android 2.0 update and then it never wanted to work right again. It’s like the update was more than the phone could handle. But that’s the price I paid for an early version. The reason I drone on about that is that while I’m excited to hear they are releasing 4G phones finally, I’m hesitant to get in line for the first gen versions. And again, I still love my Droid X.

I looked at the Thunderbolt the other day, very nice device. I was thinking about going with the I-Phone, but the T-Bolt has it all over the I-phone. 4G is great speed, and to also have voice and data at the same time, is a great feature.

The Thunderbolt looks nice, My daughter has one ordered. I will have to show her how to use it when it arrives. She has never had a smart phone. My HTC Eris has been perfect. I bought it the day they came out, so I know it was an earlier version. Most folks I know that bought one had a lot of trouble with the Android 2.0 download. My phone acted stupid for about an hour after the download then started working perfectly. I havn't had any other issues.

My Eris was perfect right up to that "Upgrade" and then it was lag city. I couldn't type a text without it locking up on me. The X fixed that and is soooooooo much better. IMHO.

We have a cell phone - my wife uses it and I'm good with that. I'm pretty sure you just make phone calls with it :o

Where can I get one of those steam powered portable phones? :D

The guy at the Verizon store said that they come out on the 17th of this month. I'll wait a couple months to see how they are working, before I get one...

I understand the iPhone5 is coming early this summer, to blow away all others

Pete

Tough to keep up with 'the latest and greatest,' when it comes to electronics! There's just so much demand, and related $$, so these companies keep pumping a ton of R&d and capital into improvements. Gotta love it...
