Cost of Ammo
I have a ammo can of 300 win.mag. target ammo. There is 20 rounds per box, what do you think it would be worth? I have no use for it, son was shooting 300 mag for the Navy and doesn't want it anymore.

It's running about $2.50 per round for most variations, e.g., $50.00 for a box of 20.

That sounds more like 300 Weatherby prices.

I always get confused, and consider the cheap stuff to be "target" grade ammo(ie, punching holes in paper) and the expensive stuff "match" grade ammo. The Natchez site lists the cheap ammo as "target/fmj" ammo. Must have my nomenclature wrong, I suppose.

Hmmmm, OK, I was speaking of match grade target ammo. I guess the hunting rounds are even more expensive. I hope the OP got what he needed. It seemed as though he was trying to price what he has for sale.

It is target ammo, 190 grain HPBT - Federal Cartridges. Guess I wouldn't have a problem selling them for $25 per 20 rounds. What does it cost to ship, do you have to pay haz mat charge on them? I have ten boxes of it .

Shipping is totally dependent upon weight, distance, and the size of the box. Go to UPS.com and click on the "Shipping" tab at the top of the page on the left. From the pull-down menu that pops up, click on "Calculate Time and Cost," enter your variables, and go from there. There is a small additional fee for shipping ammo (the ORM-D label is required), but it is not much. At $25.00 a box, you are giving some happy long-range shooter a very good deal.

No haz mat fees.
figure $1.5-$2 per box. I've used Fedex mostly, no one comes close to them for ground delivery.
The Federal's you're talking about are close to 50 bucks. I think you could get more than 25.

Edited: Sorry, the buck fifty to two dollars was for 50 rds of 45 acp. The price for the 20 Win mags probably closer to the bottom price.

Thanks Guys, I'm going to put it in the add for $300 for ten boxes shipped, or $30 plus shipment per box.

I just checked 20 boxes of the 190's to my house from Ms, it was $26 and change. Obviously it's better to ship in bulk rather than 1 or 2 boxes at a time.
The price you're selling at is a steal.
Don't forget the ORM-D stickers, they're available online, and free. You need the ones that say small arms cartridges. Put 2 on the box, should be good to go
