Great video. I sat on my balcony last week and watched them practice for three days and perform on Sunday at Carswell JRB.
There were only three planes in the formation, plus the two soloists. Haven't seen anything saying why.

That was very interesting. I was stationed at NAS North Island in 1945 and was assigned to what they called the Emergency Repair Div..
I was assigned to the rigging crew and our job was to check and insure that the flight controls were properly rigged on all new aircraft coming into the inventory from the factory. Many were not and required re-rigging. The F8F was a beautiful airplane and was the best there was at that time.

Thanks for the posting. It brought back many fond memories of watching the Blue Angels when I was younger.

Wow! What a beautiful story.

I have the privilege of watching the current Blue Angels squadron in Annapolis each spring. They honor their predecessors...who inspired them.

Be safe.

The Collings Foundation appeared at our local Regional airport a few years ago and my assignment was to help old guys into and out of their B-17. The raw emotion was something to see and the stories something to hear, just like it was yesterday...
